We completed an Energy Audit and we are working with a contractor on air infiltration and insulation issues. Do you have information regarding the safety of urethane insulation, what specs we should look for, and health related issues we should be aware of?
Yes, please read on.
Fully-cured polyurethane foam contains no residual Isocyanate or Polyol, and, in contrast to the urea formaldehyde foams, presents no bleed-off toxic effects products. Also, there is no evidence of toxicity problems in homes insulated with fully-cured polyurethane foam. Source: (JAMA, Journal of American Medical Association)
