Anyone can hire a consultant for an evaluation through Focus on Energy.
Anyone can hire a consultant to do an assessment of their home through Focus on Energy's Home Performance with ENERGY STAR Program. Cash-Back Reward eligibility is based on whether your natural gas and electric utilities participate in Focus on Energy or not.
If you do not heat your home with natural gas, but your electric utility participates in Focus on Energy, and you use electric baseboard heating for over 60% of your home's heating needs, then you are also eligible for all services and Cash-Back Rewards the program offers. If your electric utility participates in Focus on Energy and you use electric baseboard heating for less than 60% of your home's heating needs, you are only eligible for electric saving Cash-Back Rewards.
