Replacing a furnace filter is one of those little things that can go a long way toward reducing heating costs. It’s a good idea to clean or replace furnace filters as recommended by your contractor, or as noted on your filter packaging. This may be as often as once a month. The frequency of replacement depends on how much dust and dirt is moving through your ductwork. If you have central air conditioning, be sure to inspect and replace that filter as needed throughout the summer as well.
