How much does it cost to use my central air conditioning compared to just opening windows and using fans?
It costs over 30 times more to turn on the air.
The cost for air conditioning is significantly higher, over 30 times*, the cost of using a fan to keep cool. Remember that unless you are bringing in cooler air from outside, a fan only cools people, not the home. Be sure to the turn off the fan when you are not in the room to save energy.
